Ganni, a Danish fashion brand, is debuting a plant-based glitter in collaboration with the Los Angeles-based Submission, which is on a mission to make beauty plastic free.

The two brands joined forces to launch a limited capsule of glitter made from natural and plant-derived materials. The glitter is available in pink, gold, and silver and will be sold on Ganni’s website and stores.
The two brands previously worked together when Ganni used Submission’s products for both spring 2022 and fall 2022 shows at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Ganni is known for focusing on sustainability, so the perfect brand to partner with was Submission.
Submission launched in 2020 as an editorial platform where anyone could submit their beauty looks, creative work, opinions, or professional advice, as long as it has been created sustainably, Vogue reported. There was to be no use of synthetics, plastic, or fast fashion in any imagery.
Unfortunately, much of the beauty industry still relies on plastic. Ganni and Submission are planning to invest in a range of marketing activities to promote the collaboration and show that plant-based is just as good and much better for the environment.
The glitter is made from natural and plant-derived materials and contains no plastic. It is made with cellulose from eucalyptus trees, and Ganni reports that it makes the glitter feel 40 percent softer on the skin and “creates a unique iridescent effect.”
This is amazing, and we hope that other brands will take note and take the leap toward being plastic free!
