When Mr. Magoo was found living under a deck in Canada with his cat mother, brother, and sister, the family was immediately rushed to the Westwood Heights Pet Hospital. It became evident that Mr. Magoo wasn’t like other cats … his tongue always stuck out.

“During physical exam we found his lower jaw is off to one side, which causes his tongue to stick out, and his skull is slightly deformed but otherwise healthy,” Natalie, veterinary technician, wrote on Mr. Magoo’s website.

Natalie fell in love with the special kitty and immediately gave him a loving, forever home. “I was so in love, I had truly met my furry little soulmate,” Natalie says

Mr. Magoo only eats canned food because he has a hard time opening up his mouth to chew, but otherwise, he is perfectly happy and healthy. Tongue out and all!

Mr. Magoo is now four years old and has adoring fans from all over who just can’t get enough of that sweet face.

“He loves cuddles on the couch, stealing dog and human food, jumping on counters, sneak attacks on his Pomeranian brothers and so much more, he is truly living life to the fullest,” Natalie notes.

Mr. Magoo is never alone … he has so many four-legged friends!

“When I first met Magoo I thought that he needed me, but in reality, I was the one who needed him, he has changed my life forever,” Natalie says. We’re sure lots of dog and cat lovers can relate!

Keep on being your adorable self, Mr. Magoo!

There are thousands of deserving cats, just like Mr. Magoo waiting for their forever homes at a shelter near you. Every year, six to eight million dogs and cats find themselves tenants of animal shelters with 2.7 million being put down, approximately 70 percent of the euthanized animals are cats. Many of these marked cats are healthy and adoptable.

Choosing to adopt rather than shop for a new pet helps to reduce the homeless pet population and can help free up more space in a shelter for other animals who desperately need it.
