Social media users have been quick to express their delight, with comments such as “They are too cute! I love watching them” and “I love seeing these videos of cubs and mama having a good time.”

Farmington has seen 73 bear sightings in 2023, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). Eastern black bears in Connecticut typically hibernate from mid-December to the end of March or beginning of April, emerging in search of food. DEEP tracks the intrastate migrations of bears, with nearly 1,200 bears logged by the state as of Thursday, and the largest concentration centered in the north-central area.

This charming video not only brings joy to viewers but also serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting and protecting the natural environment. As we strive for sustainability, it is crucial to consider the impact of our actions on wildlife and their habitats. Simple measures like securing garbage cans, reducing waste, and planting native vegetation can contribute to a healthier environment and more harmonious coexistence with our wild neighbors.
