For every dollar spent, it generates $1.54 in economic activity — and in 2021 alone, it lifted nearly 3 million people out of poverty. Food banks cannot replace it; SNAP provides nine meals for every one a food bank can offer. Without immediate action, families across the nation will face hunger and hardship.
