In Burnley, England, a woman allegedly encouraged her dogs to fatally attack a 15-year-old cat named Poppy. Shockingly, she even posted the video on Snapchat, laughing as she urged her dogs to continue. Poppy’s tragic death was preventable — and now we must act to make sure this never happens again.
Experts who reviewed the video said the dogs appeared reluctant until their owner repeatedly commanded them. Poppy was terrified, frozen in fear, and brutally killed. This woman has since pled guilty to animal welfare offenses and is incarcerated. But when she is released, authorities must ensure she receives proper mental health treatment — a crucial step to prevent further harm to animals.
Sign the petition now to demand Burnley authorities take action. Poppy’s suffering must lead to stronger protections for vulnerable animals.
