Sophie the donkey was adopted from a Pennsylvania farm on May 26 — by May 27, she was dead. Emaciated, struggling to breathe, and suffering from severe hoof damage and loose teeth, Sophie had clearly endured long-term neglect and alleged abuse. Her “body score” was just 1–2 out of 9 — meaning she was skeletal.
The farm’s owner has been arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty, including torture. But Sophie’s suffering raises urgent concerns for the other animals still there. Reports say her long-time companion Luke died just months earlier — were others also subjected to this treatment? This farm must be closed immediately, and all surviving animals placed in safe, loving homes or sanctuaries.
Sign the petition now to demand justice for Sophie and the closure of this cruel operation. Animals deserve safety, not suffering.
