It’s not unheard of for animals of different species to become friends, they can even become like family!
Take Lincoln, the one-year-old rescue cat, for example. He may be small, but he doesn’t let his size stop him from making friends with those around him, including three giant Great Danes.
It all started when Lincoln was a tiny kitten at a shelter in Maine. Jill Whitlow just so happened to be looking to add a cat to her family, but she wasn’t sure how it would work out with her 130lb dog, Liberty.
According to the Metro, Jill decided to take Liberty to the cat shelter to see how he’d react and that’s when she spotted the tiny Lincoln. The two animals instantly hit things off and Jill decided to welcome Lincoln into her home!
She said, “[Lincoln] doesn’t have an ounce of fear and didn’t care that he was just a 3lb kitten, he still jumped on [Liberty] and played.”
Since then, the family has grown even bigger, welcoming in five-year-old Finnegan and 8-month-old Lucy, two friendly Great Danes.
Despite their size differences, Lincoln seems to think he’s part of the pack of dogs and sometimes even acts like it! He goes on walks with the dogs, plays with the dogs, eats with the dogs, and naps with them.
Great Danes are known to be gentle giants and these three demonstrate that perfectly in their relationship with little Lincoln.
