A missing toddler in Ohio was found safe thanks to a local police dog. Kilo, the dog, is part of the Mason City K-9 Unit.

The toddler’s family contacted authorities after the boy wandered off the family’s rural home. Both the toddler and the family’s dog had gone missing at the same time. Sherriff’s deputies and two K-9 units responded to the call, and a drone was also used to help locate the child.

Mason City police officer Duane Kemna and his police dog Kilo were the ones that located the missing boy. Luckily, the boy was found safe in a neighbor’s yard, with his own dog, and was returned safely home shortly after.

Locals cheered the local unit on Facebook, with one user commenting, “thank you officer kemna and your heroic buddy, kilo!!”
