Parent Trap star Dennis Quaid has a new pet! A Virginia pet shelter had a cat named Dennis Quaid, who made his way to become Dennis Quaid the actor’s pet! The Lynchburg Humane Society reported that Quaid’s podcast cohost Jimmy Jellinkek went to the center to pickup and adopt Dennis Quaid the cat and bring him back to actor Dennis Quaid.
A local news station shared that the cat was available as part of a pet adoption campaign and the namesake actor and cat finally heard about each other. The 6-year old black cat was brought in and fostered by a loving family and was waiting for a new home, according to news station WSLS. Who better than Quaid himself?
The local humane society’s Adoption Manager Danielle Ulmer told local news KSAT, ““Jimmy will be quarantining with Dennis the cat for a week or two since he had to travel, but after that Dennis and Dennis will finally meet in person! As far as I am aware they are keeping his name.” Soon the two will be united for good!
Ulmer said she thought Quaid’s namesake adopter was a fake. “We all thought it was a prank. We were like there is NO way Dennis Quaid heard about a cat from a little town in Virginia. I immediately started Googling all the information about their podcast to see if it was legit or not and when everything seemed to check out I was like well if it is real this will be the coolest thing to ever happen and if not we can at least laugh about it. We have been naming pets after celebrities and characters for a while and this is the first time one of their namesakes has ever reached out to us.”
