She enjoys coming up with new plant based dishes, taking pictures of those dishes to put up on Instagram with a great filter and some pertinent hashtags and then eating those dishes. Yeah, she’s that person. She also likes to tell people she’s been drinking almond milk since before it was cool, has a small thrift store addiction and cannot pass up a garage sale. She lives with her two kids, two dogs and husband in the wild west. Read more about JJ Dolm Read More
In the words of Paula Abdul, “Opposites Attract.” In life, we find ourselves drawn to those who are completely different from ourselves, and for good reason. Opposites balance one another, give a different perspective to a problem or make plain life just plain interesting. How boring would it be if everyone were exactly alike, right?
There’s no better example of this in life than cats and dogs. One has a reputation for being fun loving and affable, while the other is thought of as more aloof and mysterious. Though there’s exceptions to every rule (we once knew a cat that would chit chat about politics during breakfast. Man, he was opinionated), for the most part these perceptions are pretty spot on.
Which makes for a whole heaping helping of adorable and hilarious when they get together. Sometimes it may seem like they’re barely tolerating one another, but these unlikely duos obviously have plenty of affection for each other too. Remind you in any way of your relationship with your best friend? Or even your sibling? Remember that time that your sister came to pick you up early from that school dance because you were having a terrible time…and then kept inching the car forward just before you could open the door? It’s pretty much like that.
By adopting a cat and a dog, you’re not only helping one of the 70 million homeless animals in the United States find a loving home, you’re also opening the door to an example of hilarity, tolerance and love…even if it is sometimes grudging.
