4-Year-Old Boy Who Used to be Scared of Dogs is Now Best Friends With a Senior Rescue Dog

The bond between a child and their canine best friend is adorable and unbreakable. We love stories of a pet and a child helping each other feel safe and loved. A sweet little girl named Ady was scared after earthquakes hit her home but tucking in her dog in bed with her made her feel secure. A young dog named Brooklyn is scared of most things, but loves making children happy more than anything. A rescued pit bull emanates pure joy doing cartwheels with his human sister, Kailyn. And recently, the heartwarming friendship of Marcello and Mini has gone viral.

An adorable 4-year-old boy named Marcello was adopted in 2018 by the Brookhauser family. He used to be scared of dogs until senior dog Mini won his heart. They spend all their time together and are pretty much inseparable.

They were featured on The Dodo’s Soulmates segment and have touched hearts all around the world with their friendship:

We hope Marcello and Mini serve as an example that children and dogs both deserve happy, loving homes and that every kid should have a dog best friend (if possible). The fact that Mini is also 13 years old but loves life and is affectionate and loving should also encourage people to rescue senior dogs and give them a wonderful home!
