Palm oil has become a big part of our daily activities, from biscuits to chocolate, to laundry detergent and body lotion. Why don’t we see it on labels then? Palm oil is often disguised by ambiguous names to confuse consumers, words like Elaeis Guineensis and Palmitate. Sometimes, companies don’t even disclose palm oil on their ingredient lists because it is not a labeling requirement. Palm oil is listed under “vegetable oil.” The next time you go to the store, opt for a palm oil-free product.
