@thepetcollective This mouse rescue is absolutely incredible! 💕🐭✨ #AnimalRescue #RescueAnimals #Veterinarians #VetTok #PetTok #CuteAnimals #BabyAnimals
Most people don’t want a wild mouse running around in their house, but we also need to deal with the matter at hand in the most humane way possible. After all, they’re sentient little creatures who probably just like the warmth in your home and the food crumbs they can find.
A recent video posted by @thepetcollective follows the rescue of a small wild mouse who was found in severe hypothermia. Rather than catch and release the poor mouse, they decided to help her warm up and get her back on her feet.
They slowly revived her in warm water, dried her off, and made her a cozy bed to rest in. Although she had the shakes for a while, the next day, she made huge strides. She began to eat and she was dry and a fluffy mouse once again.
For those of us who are against killing other creatures, a mouse in the house can feel like an even bigger issue. How exactly are we supposed to catch the thing without killing it? Well, rest assured that where there is a will, there is a way. It’s most certainly possible to humanely catch a mouse, and as a matter of fact, it’s about as equally effective as the typical spring-loaded mousetrap or those horrible glue things.
