Worker Asks Boss to Use Humane Mouse Traps but Company Opts for Cruel Snap Traps

A Reddit user recently posted on the forum r/vegan to get some Support from the vegan community about a recent experience they had.

The user, u/samanthaskyes, who has been vegan for over five years started out by saying that they have no vegan friends to discuss a recent experience with so she came to the forum to ask for some Support or advice.

A few weeks ago, they noticed a little mouse friend at their work along with some other coworkers. They had noticed droppings a few times and they concluded that there must be a few of them living in the wall. The boss was not too happy about it so the poster offered to take care of it. They got a catch-and-release trap and set up a few around the buildings. However, after weeks, the mouse friends did not fall for the trap and continued to make a mess in the building. The boss then took matters into his own hands and set up multiple snap traps.

“I’m so conflicted I feel sick to my stomach about this. I’m terrified of closing up and turning the lights off at night because that’s where the mouse traps are and no matter what I have to walk past them. I cannot imagine hearing it go off at work or seeing a critter suffer endlessly.”

Their boss told them: “I understand your point of view but sometimes things need to get done.”

“I just don’t know what to do after seeing the traps. I feel so sick.”
