Rescue Dogs Find Their Forever Home Together in the Mountains

Hedy Vetter, a dog parent in Spain, shared a heartwarming story of her two adopted pups, Lluvia and Danko, who found each other and became inseparable. In a TikTok post, Vetter described how the two rescue dogs quickly bonded and now live a happy life on her mountain property with their other rescue dogs, Saffron and Bindi.

Vetter, originally from the Netherlands, emphasized her commitment to adoption. “We chose to adopt instead of buying from a breeder,” she explained. “Our motto is ‘don’t shop, adopt.'” Lluvia, initially adopted by Vetter’s daughter in 2020, and Danko, adopted in 2021 after multiple failed homes, share a strong bond and a newfound sense of family with their loving humans.

With over 6.3 million pets entering U.S. shelters annually, many face uncertain futures. However, the rise of adoption is helping reduce euthanasia rates. Vetter is proud of her choice: “They are the ones who truly deserve a second chance in life.”
