The 29-year-old powerhouse from Florida has pledged to Donate $1,000 to animal rescues for every home run he knocks out of the park this season. With a track record of consistent home runs, Alonso’s generosity promises to make a huge difference for animals in need.

Alonso’s commitment to donating a portion of his successes on the field to a noble cause reflects both his athleticism and compassion. Having consistently hit impressive home run figures throughout his career, ranging from 16 in the COVID-affected 2020 season to a career-high 53 in 2019, Alonso’s promise could amount to a significant donation this year. With 46 home runs in his latest season, the potential donation range lies between $35,000 and $50,000—a sum that could greatly benefit animal shelters and rescues.

Animal shelters face financial challenges because of the cost of caring for animals. Food expenses alone average between $2 to $5 per day per animal.
