Blind Puppy Cruelly Abandoned in Hurricane Finds Loving Home

As Hurricane Milton barreled toward Florida, a blind puppy, later named Ginger Spice, was found abandoned and tied to a pole, waiting helplessly for someone to save her. Linus & Friends, a nonprofit animal rescue group based in New York City and Central Florida, shared Ginger Spice’s story on TikTok, capturing the hearts of thousands.

The puppy was discovered “skinny, sick, and pleading for help” amidst the escalating storm. “She appears to have been born blind,” said Jen Ligeti, a spokesperson for Linus & Friends, who noted the heartbreaking suspicion that whoever left her there may have assumed she would perish in the hurricane’s aftermath. “We have no idea why she was tied up and left there,” Ligeti shared. “Could be that the abandoner thought she wouldn’t live anyway.”

Fortunately, Ginger Spice was saved just in time and taken into Linus & Friends’ care. Following medical treatment, she stayed with a foster carer before a heartwarming development. Ginger Spice was adopted by a family in upstate New York, joining a new human with experience caring for blind pit bulls.
