Year one of my vegan journey, you could not pay me to eat cold tofu out of a package. Fast forward to almost year three and I can’t get enough! If you are experimenting with cold tofu, let this be your first go-round. It’s packed with so much flavor and protein (secretly)! Spicy Silken Tofu [Vegan]

What Ingredients Do You Need To Make Spicy Silken Tofu [Vegan]

  • 1 (14-oz [397-g]) package silken tofu
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) rice wine vinegar
  • 1/2 tablespoon (8 ml) agave or organic sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sriracha
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon (8 g) sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) water
  • 1 green onion, diced

How To Make Spicy Silken Tofu [Vegan]

  1. Drain the tofu and place on a serving plate.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the soy sauce, vinegar, agave, ginger, sriracha, garlic, sesame seeds (if using) and water and mix until well incorporated. Add the mixture to a medium sauce-pan on low–medium heat along with the green onion and let the mixture heat through, 3 to 5 minutes. Top the tofu with the warmed mixture and enjoy.
