This Homemade pumpkin seed butter is buttery, it tastes a lot like peanut butter (only better). It’s also completely nut-free, which makes it perfect for allergy-friendly events. Oh yes, and it’s bright green! Homemade pumpkin seed butter is super simple to make and has only one ingredient – pumpkin seeds (also known as pepitas). Use it in the same way you would use any of your favorite nut butters––on sandwiches, with celery sticks, or in desserts. You will be surprised with how delicious it is!

Notes
Making pumpkin seed butter – or any nut or seed butter – can be really hard on your food processor. If your motor feels like it’s getting very hot while grinding your pumpkin seeds, turn it off and leave it for at least half an hour to let the motor cool down. You can also take regular short rests (5 minutes) during the process, to keep temperatures down.
