These are literally mix-and-make peanut butter jam balls. If you have jam ready, these are even quicker to make. If you require a gluten-free recipe, you can replace oats with quinoa flakes or something similar.

  • 1 cup peanut butter, salted or unsalted, according to preference
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/4–1/3 cup maple syrup
  • A pinch of salt (optional)
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam of any kind

Preparation

  1. Line a tray with a baking paper. Drop little dollops,about 1 tablespoon each, of jam on the baking paper. Pop the tray in the freezer to set.
  2. Mix peanut butter, oats, and maple syrup in a mixing bowl. You don’t want the mixture to be too wet. You need to be able to roll it into balls. Add more peanut butter if the mixture is too dry.
  3. Once the jam drops are set, remove from the freezer. Make little flat circle shaped peanut butter “pancakes” about the size of half of your palm. Place a jam drop in the middle of the peanut butter dough and roll into a ball. Repeat with the remaining peanut butter and jam.
  4. Store peanut butter jam balls in the refrigerator.
