If you have some overripe bananas, you have yourself a banana cake. Take it to the next level and make it marbled in this delicious combination of two awesome flavors.

Marbled Banana Cake [Vegan]



  • 4 ripe medium sized bananas
  • 2 cups spelt flour
  • 1 cup cane sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 4 tablespoon still water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoon raw cocoa powder


  1. Preheat oven to 360°F, grease a loaf pan.
  2. Crush the bananas with a fork and put them in a large bowl. Add water, vanilla and sugar and mix until creamy. Add the flour, baking powder and salt with a hand mixer. Add 2/3 of the dough to the cake. In the rest of the dough add the cocoa powder and stir well again. Then pour over the light dough.
  3. Bake 50 - 60 min.
