In a letter to participants at the EU Youth Conference in Prague this week, the Pope urged young people to “break this self-destructive trend” of consumerism and prioritize sustainability.
“There is an urgent need to reduce the consumption not only of fossil fuels but also of so many superfluous things. In certain areas of the world, too, it would be appropriate to consume less meat: this too can help save the environment,” he wrote.
Although the Pope is not vegetarian, he favors a very simple diet. He is known to eat many vegetables.

This is not the first time the Pope has expressed concern about Climate change. He has long called on people all around the world to take action against Global warming. The Pope even received the title of Person of the Year by PETA when he created the “integral ecology” in the encyclical.
In 2021, Pope Francis and religious leaders called for action on Climate change at the UN COP26 conference.
The environment has been one of the driving forces behind the Pope’s papacy, as he has remained very active in climate discussions. He has become one of the most influential voices to help in the battle against Climate change.

This Pope, like all the others, is unapologetically a human supremacist. He has been insensitive to animal issues when he called child-free couples “selfish” for adopting pets instead of children, and he helped overturn a ban on ritual slaughter in Poland calling it an attack on “religious freedom.” His sole concern for eating less meat is the HUMAN environment, and not to spare billions of “farm” animals from the suffering and abuse of animal-based agriculture. He himself has refused to go vegan for Lent. He has never addressed human overpopulation as one of the primary factors for climate change and loss of biodiversity. The Catholic Church regards other-than-human animals as devoid of moral standing and dignity!
