Oat milk has taken it’s rightful place in the dairy-alternative pantheon. With specialty brands like Oatly and Planet Oat providing premium products, and larger brands like Silk and Quaker hopping on board, it’s safe to say oat milk is here to stay. From its high amounts of fiber, protein, and iron, it’s a dairy alternative that has a lot to offer nutritionally as well as in flavor.
Like all dairy alternatives, oat milk was destined to find its way into ice cream at some point. Brands like So Delicious have already launched frozen oat desserts. Now, classic New York ice cream maker Perry’s has launched their own frozen oat desserts, and when you hear the flavors, you’ll understand why they’ve been in business for over a hundred years.
The oat cream lineup is a creative ice cream jam session. Flavors include: Apple Strudel, Blueberry Pancake, Coconut Caramel, Peanut Butter Coffee Cake, Peanut Butter & Cookies, Snickerdoodle and, of course, Oat Latte. The pints sell for $6.99 apiece.
While Perry’s only delivers to stores on the east coast, anyone can purchase these frozen treats, since they offer frozen shipping all across the country. Their ice creams are available on the company’s website as well as on Amazon.
It may have taken Perry’s 100 years to add a dairy-free option, but this classic ice cream company proves it’s never too late.

Coffee Ice Cream With Salted Caramel
Need your caffeine fix in a dessert? Kimberly Espinel‘s decadent Coffee Ice Cream is made from cashews, dates, strong-brewed coffee, and a secret ingredient — sweet potatoes. But you (nor anyone else) would be able to tell. It has a rich salted caramel swirl within, but be sure to save some for drizzling on top, along with crunchy coffee beans.

This Sweet Potato Ice Cream by Emily Brees is like a summery cousin to autumn’s pumpkin pie. This creamy and decadent cashew-based ice cream is spicy and cool — nobody would ever guess that it actually contains sweet potato! A topping of pecans complements the ice cream and if you’re feeling it, add a dollop of coconut whipped cream.
