A new plant-forward restaurant has opened in NYC! Planted Restaurant, which was previously Seabird, is now offering plant-based, vegan, and seafood in the West Village. Opened by British-born Elizabeth Green, the hotspot is now open from 12 pm-9 pm every day!

According to the restaurant, the menu features “Savory small plates include Sweet Chili Yuca, Roasted Eggplant and Hand Pies with an assortment of fillings like edamame and corn with horseradish dip or impossible meat with potatoes and herb aioli. Large plates feature Quinoa bowls, Shrimp Risotto, and Stir Fried Rice Cakes with impossible crumble.”

There’s no vegan processed food like plant-based chicken or yogurt, or what they refer to as “make believe” food on the menu. Green, who eats a clean vegan diet herself teamed up with plant-based chef Sital Patel to help make Planted a reality. Chef Sital is a South Asian Indian who grew up in a vegetarian household and believes vegetables are delicious if served the right way.

“Having people come to my restaurant has always felt like having people in my living room, especially in this welcoming corner in the West Village. We have great food, location and ambience, so come and enjoy,” shared Green.
