Dairy-Free Yogurt Bowls are Available at The Broken Coconut in NYC

Homemade Coconut Greek Yogurt

Earlier this month, a new fast-casual, dairy-free yogurt concept called Broken Coconut opened its doors to patrons in New York City’s NoHo neighborhood.

Patrons are flocking to the location to taste Broken Coconut’s signature yogurt — which happens to not only be dairy-free but also honey-free and full of probiotics and protein. Customers have the option to top their dairy-free yogurt with dragon fruit, chia, and coconut flakes, or receive their yogurt in the form of a smoothie bowl.

The coconut yogurt and menu at large was curated by Cobi Levy, who is also behind NYC-based restaurants such as Black Seed Bagel and Babu Ji, and Molly Rieger, a certified nutritionist. It consists of the signature yogurt, blended bowls, many of which are vegan-friendly, overnight oats, morning smoothies, salads, and afternoon grain bowls.

“A focus on health and wellness has played a huge part of my life the past few years, and I’m excited to embark into a new realm of hospitality that mirrors my current interests,” Broken Coconut’s co-founder, Scott Sartiano, told QSR.

“Eating better doesn’t mean dieting nor does it require sacrificing flavor,” he said.

Not everything on the menu is vegan, but there are several options, like the Vegan Delight, which features Japanese eggplant, whipped purple yamcrunchy chickpeas, sautéed pea shoots, and pickled daikon, and the blended smoothie bowls, which are made with coconut milk, flax, and organic vegan protein.

New Yorkers can visit Broken Coconut every day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
