It’s a great time to be a vegan fast-food lover.
Beyond Meat made vegan history when they put a plant-based option on the menu at 1,490 fast food restaurants through their partnership with Carl’s Jr. After announcing their brand new Beyond Beef product earlier this month, the company just came out with more exciting news.
Fast-casual Mexican chain Chronic Tacos announced it would be next to partner with Beyond Meat, serving Beyond Beef Crumbles at participating locations across North America, Canada and Japan. The move seems like smart business for the plant protein company. The cubes used in the new tacos will be from their new ground beef alternative, which is itself a brand new launch.
Chronic Tacos CEO, Michael Mohammed, said of the partnership: “Our menu is customizable so that all Chronic Tacos guests can create the meal of their choice. It’s important that our offerings reflect a variety of options to accommodate diverse taste-buds and dietary preferences. Bringing Beyond Meat into our stores really enhances The Taco Life experience that we provide for our guests and we’re excited to have a delicious and healthy plant-based option as part of that.”
Customers will be able to enjoy the Beyond Beef Crumbles in any item of their choosing, not just tacos. All burritos, bowls, nachos, tostadas can be equipped with the new, and versatile protein product. Not only does it taste great, it contains only 3g of fat per serving. Compare that to the 8 grams of saturated fat in cow meat.
It’s dizzying to keep track of everything Beyond Meat is doing. Who knows what, or who, they’ll think of next. One thing’s for sure, if these restaurant partnerships continue to work out for the company, we can be sure they’ll be more big news to come.
Of course, you don’t need to run to the drive-thru for great vegan Mexican eats. Check out these recipes, courtesy of the Food Monster App.
