If you keep up with the best vegan restaurants in the U.S., you’ve definitely heard of Atlanta’s hit vegan burger chain, Slutty Vegan. Currently, the restaurant has four chains in Georgia, but soon, they’ll debut their first restaurant in New York City!
The owner, Aisha “Pinky” Cole, has become famous in the vegan cooking world, and her delicious vegan burgers have exploded over social media. She loves giving back to the community and showing how delicious vegan food can be. She works with the Black community to empower entrepreneurs and to discuss veganism. She has a foundation called Pinky Cole Foundation and she does a lot of work to bring economic opportunities to communities of color around the area.
Slutty Vegan began in 2018 as a mobile delivery service before later becoming a food truck. The menu features insanely delicious burgers with loads of toppings made with zero animal products. The company’s success has been phenomenal.
In an interview with the New York Times, Cole said the brand has nothing to do with sex. She wanted to make something that would grab people’s attention and spread through word of mouth.
“I know that sex sells, so I thought how I can positively manipulate this. We want you to have an orgasmic experience and the ultimate feeling of euphoria that comes after having a vegan burger.”
Slutty Vegan is such a big hit, customers will often wait up to three hours for a burger-it’s that good! Cole makes her towering burgers with Impossible Burger patties and Hawaiian buns.
The menu features burgers with quirky names like Sloppy Toppy (a patty with jalapenos, vegan cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and the Slut Sauce), Fussy Hussy (with pickles), One Night Stand (with vegan bacon), and Super Slut (with guacamole).

There are currently four locations in Atlanta, and they plan to open more in Athens, Georgia, Birmingham, Alabama, and Baltimore, Maryland.
The restaurant in New York will open sometime this spring at 690 Fulton Street, at South Portland Avenue in Fort Greene, according to a press release. Slutty Vegan will take over another vegan restaurant Broccoli Bar, which closed last month after two years.
This is a homecoming for Cole, as she had her very first restaurant in Harlem, Pinky’s Jamaican & American Restaurant, but it was not vegan. The restaurant closed in 2016 after a fire.
Cole stated in the press release: “It’s an honor to be opening a concept in such an established space, just down the street from where Biggie Smalls grew up, and to bring more delicious vegan food to the Brooklyn community!”
