Heartbreaking Video Shows Senior Cat Who Was Surrendered Because People Wanted a Kitten

Cute senior cat laying on side, looking at camera

A heartbreaking TikTok video shared with the Chesapeake Feline Association shows a senior cat named Biscuit who was surrendered to the rescue because her people wanted a younger kitten instead. The family that surrendered Biscuit wanted to have the cat euthanized even though she had no health issues or behavioral concerns. They simply did not want the senior cat any longer. Luckily, the Maryland-based rescue refused to euthanize Biscuit. Instead, they are now caring for her as she searches for a new home.

Biscuit lived her whole life with her best cat friend and what she thought was her forever family…until her companion cat passed away and her owner decided he wanted a kitten instead….so he brought Biscuit in to be put down. We quickly scooped her up and gave her so much love, but she is ready for a new family to call her own. Biscuit is about 12 years old but is just as sweet as a 12 week old kitten, please don’t let her age scare you ♥️ #catrescue #sheltercats #adoptdontshop #fyp #catsoftiktok #adoptablecats #adoptme #adoptablecatsoftiktok #maryland #delaware #pennsylvania #ownersurrender #seniorcat #sheltercat

The devastating video shows how loving and sweet Biscuit is. The adorable cat can be seen receiving lots of attention and soaking up some attention from rescue staff. According to them, Biscuit is one of the friendliest cats at the shelter. She loves attention and will seek it out from any person willing to give it.

Biscuit has not yet received any interest from potential adopters. Indeed, the sweet cat has already spent over 100 days waiting for a forever family. However, neither Biscuit nor the rescue staff have given up hope that the perfect family is out there for the senior cat. Anyone interested in Biscuit is encouraged to visit her at the rescue’s location in North East, MD.
