Meet Dolly. This brave girl was rescued by Sleepy Pig Farm Sanctuary after being used for burn medical research in a laboratory. After being burned multiple times on her back and enduring extreme suffering, she has finally been given a second chance at life. Dolly is safe and will never be harmed again.

“Today, she is safe at the sanctuary. She loves taking the naps out in the pasture,” said the sanctuary.

Although the scars on her back will always be there, to help them heal, she gets a lot of sunscreen daily on her back.

The term “lab animals” often conjures up images of white rabbits and mice or rats, but dogs, goats, non-human primates, and pigs are also used in cruel experiments. There are over 100 million animals subjected to painful cosmetic and pharmaceutical tests in the U.S. every year. But this lucky pig who was used for burn testing in a laboratory now has a second chance at life and will become a spokesperson for anti-animal testing.

It’s time to let animals out of the world’s laboratories. As consumers, we can work to end this cruel practice by looking for products that have a “cruelty-free” label, which signifies products were made without the use of animal tests.
