This Artist Creates the Most Realistic Animal Portraits We’ve Ever Seen

Okay, so we love art and we love animals. But, where is a Green Monster to look to find an artist who can realistically capture our favorite animals in works of art? If you have ever pondered the same question … look no further, because we have the artist for you!

Ivan Hoo is a visual artist and art instructor, based in Singapore, who creates the most jaw-droppingly amazing animal portraits you will likely ever see. While Hoo also creates portraits of other subjects, like people and the occasional Nutella jar, but we just can’t stop staring at his renderings of animals. So far, Hoo has made dogs, cats and rabbits come to life, using only pastels and charcoal.

We don’t blame you if you don’t believe us that these are actually 2D creations … they’re just that incredibly realistic.

To create the lifelike detail of his pieces, Hoo pays incredibly close attention to every single hair.

To say that Hoo is patient is a MASSIVE understatement.

We can almost feel the soft coat of this gentle little bunny. You can even see the reflection of a building in his eye!
