Doctors Were Baffled By This Little Sphynx Cat’s Condition – Now She Needs Your Help to Get Better

Author Bio

I am a writer and illustrator living in Poland.

Minka, a four-year-old Sphynx cat, recently found herself at Happy Homes Animal Rescue when her guardian could no longer take care of her. She was moved into a foster home, but, unfortunately, she was getting picked on by other cats, which caused her a lot of stress. She was quickly moved to a different foster, one that is quieter and more suited to her needs. Sadly, Minka started to show worrying symptoms – and now, she urgently needs help to get the care she needs.

Minka developed some swelling in her neck and paw and she stopped eating. The rescue’s vet determined that she may suffer from Lupus, a rare autoimmune disease characterized by the formation of antibodies against the cat’s own tissues.

“Anyone familiar with the sphynx breed understands that such stress can bring on a multitude of medical issues,” Minka’s carers write on her GoFundMe page.

In just one day, the fundraiser met 30 percent of the goal that Minka and her carers are hoping to get to!

In addition to her medical problems, Minka will soon have to be spayed – and the rescue’s usual low-cost clinic is currently not a good option for her. Since she was put on prednisone, a medication that lowers immunity, the kitty’s vet anticipates that she will get sick after her spay surgery. Because of her unusual condition, little Minka needs the very best care she can get – and her rescuers would be thankful to everyone able and willing to help provide her with exactly that so she can eventually find a loving and safe home.

You can Donate to Minka’s medical care via her GoFundMe page.
