Little Boy Blue is blue no more! In fact, he can’t stop wagging his tail in this adorable video posted by Edgar’s Mission. Little Boy Blue is an adorable lamb that went from losing his mother and almost his own life to being loved, cared for, and … well, the warm milk certainly doesn’t hurt either! When you understand what Little Boy Blue has been through and the plight of so many other factory farm animals, videos like theses make us all wanna shake our groove things!
Factory farmed animals all over the world, like Little Boy Blue, endure lives of misery, cruelty, and inhumane conditions. They are the “forgotten” animals that many would be outraged about if the same treatment was done to cats or dogs. However, the truth is these animals suffer and experience pain the same way. In the words of Peter Singer, “All animals have the ability to suffer in the same way and to the same degree that humans do. They feel pain, pleasure, fear, frustration, loneliness, and motherly love. Whenever we consider doing something that would interfere with their needs, we are morally obligated to take them into account.”
Edgar’s Mission is on a mission to turn that suffering into kindness. This organization is a non-profit and life-long farm sanctuary that cares for over 450 rescued animals. The non-profit was founded by Pam Ahern and named after her first rescue pig, Edgar Alan Pig. Now, the sanctuary sits on 153 acres outside of Lancefield, in the Macedon Ranges where rescued farm animals can roam, play, and enjoy a life of freedom and love.
“If we could live happy and healthy lives without harming other beings, why wouldn’t we?”
