Amira Sidaros, 34, has been widely praised online after sharing the remarkable transformation of Daisy, a Goldendoodle mix she rescued from a puppy mill in 2023. Initially unable to sleep lying down due to her traumatic past, Daisy’s journey to recovery has touched hearts across the internet.
After the USDA shut down a breeder with multiple violations, over 200 dogs needed new homes. Sidaros and her then-partner volunteered, and though they initially planned to foster a male dog, fate had other plans. A vet tech handed Daisy to Sidaros, who immediately felt a connection. Despite Daisy’s initial fear and trauma, Sidaros committed to giving her a loving home.
A TikTok video documenting Daisy’s transformation has gone viral, amassing 14.3 million views and nearly 4 million likes in just three days. The video contrasts Daisy’s early days—shorn, scared, and sleeping standing up—with her current joyful, playful self. She now enjoys cuddling with toys, car rides, and playing with Sidaros’ Yorkshire terrier, Sofi.
Sidaros, a Florida-based tech worker, planned to foster Daisy temporarily. However, seeing Daisy’s progress, she realized rehoming would feel like another abandonment. Thus, Daisy stayed. Over months of patience and love, Daisy learned to trust, play, and enjoy life.
