WTH?! This Nail Salon Is Trapping Live Ants in Acrylics

So many new art forms have been brought into the spotlight thanks to social media. We love how people take ordinary or unconventional materials and create unimaginable works of art; it’s simply incredible! One “art form” we can’t get behind, however, is using live animals to decorate nails – yes, you heard that correctly.

According to a petition on Care2, a salon in Moscow called Nail Sunny has been advertising a nail technician who traps ants inside customers’ clear acrylic nails. We don’t know about you, but that doesn’t sound cute at all, it just sounds cruel and disturbing.

In a video promoting the technique, you can see the tiny creature trying its hardest to escape but to no avail. Who in their right mind wants to watch innocent animals suffer and die of starvation while trapped inside their nails? Apparently … no one! Even Nail Sunny’s customers and fans voiced their dismay at this new stunt. Nail Sunny has made a name for themselves with their unique and creative nail art, but using living beings to push your agenda is taking it way too far! Take a moment to sign the Care2 petition asking Nail Sunny to never use live animals in their nails again.

Ants may be among the smallest in the animal kingdom but they are animals nonetheless and deserve the same respect and compassion as any other. In fact, ants have a lot of ecological roles that help clean up the environment and keep ecosystems in balance. Please sign the petition and tell Nail Sunny that using ants as nail decorations is a sick joke that no one finds cute or funny.
