Dogs have been “man’s best friend” for centuries. Dogs provide us with unconditional love and support and even a few laughs along the way too. We shower them with toys, treats, and would do anything to ensure their well-being. But unfortunately, not everyone sees dogs as the awesome animals that they are.

Two dogs entangled in matted, dirty, fur were recently found in Mission, Texas. Donja’s Dogs, a non-profit organization, dedicated to helping shelter animals find their forever homes, has compassionately agreed to help the two dogs.

The dogs will now undergo some much needed TLC and grooming. All of that matted fur must be uncomfortable for these two precious babies. This severe of matting doesn’t happen overnight…

Donja’s Dogs already knows they are heartworm positive, but until the dogs are groomed, it’s unknown what other medical conditions are possibly lurking beneath.

We are so thankful Donja’s Dogs is helping give these dogs a second chance! Their recovery is long from over and as you can imagine, their medical bills are growing day by day. If you would like to Donate towards their care, click here. Imagine if everyone donated even just one dollar!

With 70 million stray animals living in the United States, only about six to eight million cats and dogs enter the nation’s 3,500 shelters every year. Nearly half of all animals that arrive in U.S. shelters are euthanized due to lack of space and adopters, amounting to roughly 2.7 million dead animals every year or five out of every ten dogs and seven out of every ten cats.

Please always spay and neuter your pets and urge your friends and family to do the same. Fostering an animal is also a great way to help end the pet homelessness crisis. Regardless if you open up your home to a dog, cat, bird, small pets, pig, any pet, you can feel wonderful knowing you have saved a life and cared for a pet who will soon find his or her forever home.
