A man already facing serious accusations for the brutal killings of two livestock animals in February 2024 is now confronting additional charges. On May 21, the Laredo Police announced they had gathered sufficient evidence to charge Ricardo Segura Jr. with bestiality resulting in the death of an animal. Segura’s arrest occurred on March 11, following a disturbing discovery by a property owner on Candlewood Drive: one of her donkeys had been killed by blunt force trauma. Just four days later, the same person found her pony decapitated.
Following a comprehensive investigation, authorities arrested Segura and initially charged him with cruelty to livestock animals. However, police indicated that further charges might be forthcoming pending the results of certain tests. These tests revealed Segura’s DNA at the crime scenes.
Segura remains in the Webb County jail from his initial arrest, with his bond set at $50,000.
