Teen Finds Koala Trying to ‘Drive’ His Family’s Car … Only in Australia! (PHOTOS)

Sam Box thought is was just another, normal school day. When he got off the bus at his family home, though, he stumbled upon quite the unexpected sight. A koala was sitting in the driver’s seat of his family’s Land Rover, possibly trying his hardest to commit grand theft auto. As a native of Victoria, Australia, Box is used to seeing koalas out and about around his home, but seeing the small, fluffy animal trying to steal the family car was a first.

Box approached the car and made some noises as to alarm the intruder, and hopefully, scare him away. But the koala seems utterly unfazed by the human yelling at him. This little guy has no issue with Box’s presence.

“It was checking me out as much as I was checking him out,”  said Box. So, the 15-year-old approached the car, opened the door, and the koala just got out and walked away. It seems this little guy has no fear when it comes to human contact or human technology.

It is a good thing Box quickly snapped some photos of the incident on his phone. We imagine his parents wouldn’t have believed the teen’s story otherwise. So remember, if you park your car in Victoria, Australia … lock it! You don’t know what kind of adorable thieves could be lurking around.
