Sometimes animals get caught in severe weather, which can cause them harm and even be life-threatening. Fortunately, there are so many kind people willing to help animals in need, even if it means giving the shirt off their own backs.
In late August 2020, a group of friends was walking around Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico, during a rainstorm. They saw a little opossum struggling not to be swept away by the heavy flow of rainwater. Fortunately, one of the friends, named Abraham, stepped in to help.
He quickly took off his shirt and wrapped it around the opossum. Then, he scooped up the little animal and brought him to a safer, dryer area. It’s unclear what happened to the possum afterward, but we hope that the little guy is safe and well!
While this encounter ended up okay, it’s important to note that interacting with wild animals can be dangerous for everyone involved. It’s best to contact trained professionals if you see an animal in need.
