Brady Oliveira, the Canadian football running back for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, is raising money for rescue animals in Mexico.

Oliveira is no novice to helping animals in need. He regularly promotes a plant-based diet on his Instagram account and shares behind-the-scenes peeks at animal rescue operations.

Now, he’s taking things a step further by asking for help in his mission to save animals. Oliveira shared in an Instagram post that he’s currently in Mexico, working to Support local rescue groups.

He said in the post, “Our mission is simple, no matter where we are in the world we plan to take on pet overpopulation by saving one life at a time.”

Sadly, he quickly discovered that animals taken in by the rescues are often in need of serious medical attention. The rescue groups often can’t afford the extensive medical care required for dogs in those instances, so Brady started a GoFundMe to help.

On the GoFundMe page, he explained that he’ll be in Mexico for a total of six weeks with a goal of saving as many animals while there as he can. All of the money raised will be going toward vet bills, flight escorts, food, medication, etc. You can Support his work through GoFundMe and keep up with his rescue efforts on Instagram, @brady.oliveira.
