An endearing video of a golden retriever befriending a baby deer has captured the hearts of viewers, who liken the scene to a Disney movie. Elizabeth Manley, known on TikTok as @elizabethmanley_, was on a spring walk with her golden retriever, Brooks, when they encountered the tiny fawn. Instead of barking, Brooks greeted the deer with gentleness and excitement.
Manley filmed the enchanting moment, showing Brooks staying close to the baby deer, guiding it along the path. The video, posted on May 29, features a caption noting that the two new friends walked together for 30 minutes. Some viewers expressed concern about the fawn being alone, but Manley reassured them that the mother deer was nearby in the woods.
The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) explains that finding a fawn alone usually does not mean it is abandoned. Mother deer often hide their young to protect them from predators. The NWF advises against approaching or disturbing fawns unless they are visibly injured, in which case local animal control should be contacted. The TikTok video has got over 528,000 views and more than 50,000 likes.
