In a Missouri hospital, kind nurses helped the family of David King, who was losing his battle with cancer, do something wonderful for him. The nurses and King’s near and dear managed to sneak into the hospital with a special someone for a final goodbye – the man’s beloved Yorkshire terrier, Lil’ Fee.
The incredibly touching moment was shared by King’s granddaughter, Ellie Miguel, on her Twitter. As she told Yahoo Lifestyle, King had been battling cancer for the past couple of years – but his condition tragically worsened last week. “My grandpa loved his dog Lil Fee; she would follow him around everywhere. He would bring her everywhere he could,” she said. Miguel’s grandmother even brought pictures of the little dog to the hospital to make it easier for her husband. But the family was not about to stop at that.
“The nurses always heard my grandma talking about Lil Fee. So they encouraged her and helped her get the dog in. They had my aunt carry the dog in a really big purse,” Miguel told Yahoo Lifestyle. The meeting was intensely emotional for everyone present – King even moved his arm for the first time that day, in an attempt to pet his dog friend. “It was a moment I’ll never forget,” Miguel said.
Unfortunately, King passed away soon after the visit – but not without saying his final goodbye to his treasured dog, which was possible thanks to the determination of his loving family and the kind hearts of the hospital nurses.

I hope the doggie understood. Nothing makes me sadder than when a beloved pet thinks we’ve left them. The dog probably thinks it was their own fault.
R.I P. PEACE DAVID KING . TRUE FRIENDS WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN.
