Amazing Rescue of an Injured Calf From a Garbage Dump in India (VIDEO)

This baby calf was found terribly injured near a garbage dump in India. Earlier in her life, when she had been much smaller, a piece of plastic packing material had wound around her neck. She grew, but it didn’t, and it began to cut into the skin around her neck. The horrible injury obviously was causing her a lot of pain. Luckily for her, she was discovered by Animal Aid Unlimited. The wound created by the plastic was already several inches deep by the time they found her, and on top of that, it was infested with maggots.

But discovering her was not the same as helping her. To take the plastic off her neck and get her well, they first had to catch her. And she was scared.

Once they finally caught her, however, things immediately started looking up for this little girl. Animal Aid Unlimited removed the plastic and treated the wound. And now this calf, who used to live in a garbage dump gets to hang out with the other rescued animals that Animal Aid Unlimited has helped. She looks clean and happy, surrounded by friends and fresh food.

We are so happy to hear about her rescue, and so glad her wound is healing. But she is lucky, and other animals out there are not so fortunate. Human waste effects the lives of many animals who will never have a chance to be rescued like this little calf.
