Yes, yes, yes! McConnell’s, a 70-year-old traditional dairy creamery, has launched TWO NEW VEGAN ICE CREAMS! The brand has introduced a limited release of two flavors: Eureka Lemon and Marionberries and Dark Chocolate Chip, now available in all of their scoop shops (you can find a scoop shop here!). McConnell’s notes on their Instagram that MORE dairy-free flavors are in the works and will soon debut both online and at grocery stores this coming spring!
If that wasn’t exciting enough, McConnell’s new plant-based ice cream line is the industry’s first frozen dessert made from pea protein! If you’re not familiar with pea protein, it is a power-packed ingredient that has been making waves in the dairy-alternative space since last year.

When we see a traditional dairy creamery that has been around since 1949 offering dairy-free ice creams, it seems abundantly clear that the future is plant-based.
Whether it be for health, animal, or environmental concerns, consumer demand for milk alternatives is on the rise with the plant-based milk market expected to reach $16.3 billion in 2018. With Ben & Jerry’s, Häagen-Dazs, and Breyer’s all offering their own lines of dairy-free ice creams, McConnell’s must do the same if they want to stay relevant!
Be sure to show your Support for McConnell’s new plant-based offerings! We can’t wait to see what flavors they will introduce next! To follow them on Instagram, click here.
