Bad news is all over the place these days. And though the bad will never stop coming, we do get a breather every now and then when we see people doing good…for animals. Sometimes, animals in the wild or domestic find themselves in situations requiring help from humans — thank goodness these types of people are around!
When the elephant calf in this video found herself at the bottom of a well, both mama elephant and the team at the Amboseli Trust for Elephants did not hesitate to help save the baby elephant. Mom was not going to be able to pull her baby out of the pit and had to leave hope for survival in the hands of humans.
Stated on their website, “the Amboseli Trust for Elephants aims to ensure the long-term Conservation and welfare of Africa’s elephants in the context of human needs and pressures through scientific research, training, community outreach, public awareness and advocacy.”
It’s well worth it to watch the video, especially the end where baby and mommy run to reunite with one another!
