A powerful typhoon, allegedly intensified by Climate change, has devastated Alaska. Typhoon Halong ripped through coastal towns on October 11, sweeping homes from their foundations, toppling power lines, and leaving over a thousand people displaced. Many still lack clean water and electricity weeks later — yet instead of responding with climate action, the Trump administration has reportedly approved new oil and gas drilling in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
This decision flies in the face of science and compassion. Alaska’s permafrost is melting, ecosystems collapsing, and Native tribes are pleading to protect sacred land. Opening the Refuge to drilling would destroy wildlife habitats, pollute pristine areas, and deepen the climate crisis that fueled this very disaster.
We need to stand with Alaska’s communities — not the fossil fuel lobby. Tell the Trump administration to reverse this reckless decision. Sign the petition now.
