One day, a bright orange, three-legged cat walked into a man’s kitchen. It would be the first of many visits. The man, Boyd, already had a cat named Season. The two cats became friends, and the man decided to name the little stray Bubby. Although Boyd wanted to keep Bubby safe indoors, Bubby refused. He enjoyed his visits, but he always wanted to leave at some point.
When Season and then Boyd had both passed away, Bubby stopped coming to the house. Boyd’s family promised Boyd that they would care for Bubby, but he didn’t even touch the food they left out. A couple of years later, a neighbor saw Bubby in the middle of a storm and started trying to trap him, but Buddy evaded all of his attempts. The new owner of Boyd’s old home was afraid of cats, but the neighbor pleaded with her to let Buddy in if she ever saw him. The next day he got a call that Buddy was in her kitchen. And thus began Buddy’s recovery.
After getting medical treatment, Buddy found his forever home and no longer tries to go outside. He purrs morning till night and loves his cozy spot by the fire. It’s a happy ending for everyone.
