Life can be hard for an animal born with special needs. If born in the wild, they often don’t survive long. And if born in captivity, they may be killed or abandoned. Some animals, however, get a second chance at life thanks to kindhearted people who are willing to help.
Tinkerbell was one lucky goat who could’ve spent her days suffering, unable to walk with deformed legs. But thanks to rescuers with Viva Rescue, she was given a proper home, care, and chance at conquering the world!
Tinkerbell was born with deformities that prevented her from walking like a normal goat. Viva Rescue shared in an email with One Green Planet that the poor goat spent the first few days of her life crawling on her knees and dragging her face along the ground in an attempt to walk.
Thankfully, the rescue was called to pick her up and they were able to transfer Tinkerbell, along with her mom, sister, and brother, to the sanctuary for care.
Tinkerbell needed a lot of treatment and she ended up losing one of her legs entirely. Despite her challenges, her rescue team was determined to give her the best quality of life possible. Viva Rescue got the little goat a wheelchair and got her used to walking with it.
Eventually, she was upgraded to something even better: prosthetics!
Now dubbed a “bionic super goat,” Tinkerbell can walk and get around with the rest of her family. The rescue told One Green Planet that Tinkerbell and her family will remain at the rescue to live out their days in peace.
