Meet Rambo the Sweet Puppy Who Loves to “Protect” His Soldier Unit in Ukraine

Ukrainian soldiers have a new recruit to their unit in Donbas, his name is Rambo, and he’s the cutest puppy you’ll see all day.

A few weeks ago, the soldiers noticed a pregnant dog around their trench, and soon after, they had three adorable puppies hanging out with them. One of the pups, in particular, has become a sort of “protector” for the troops.

In a viral video of the sweet stray dog, the puppy is trotting around the armed soldiers. While the two other puppies hang out in the kitchen most of the day, Rambo is outside in the cold, happily walking around the soldiers and keeping morale up. The troops call him their “protector,” and the cute puppy already acts like a watchdog for them.

The soldiers in the video talk about how the dogs around the area are a great help because dogs can hear and feel sounds that humans can’t. The dogs help them stay on high alert and know if enemies are approaching.

A woman behind the camera asks if the dogs and everyone are being fed enough.

The man replies, “Yes, everyone here is fed well, everything is good.” He pauses and looks down, “Missing home, of course. Been here a little too long.”

Rambo is undoubtedly bringing some joy to these soldiers in extremely dark times in Ukraine.
