When the van arrived at the station’s driveway, the firefighters were told that they were certain an animal was stuck inside the undercarriage of the van. After inspecting the vehicle, they determined that the kitten was in fact near the rear axle of the van. The firefighters gently removed the scared kitty from the van, and Battalion Chief Ricciardi was kind enough to temporarily welcome the kitten into his home for safekeeping.
