A hero cat recently led rescuers to an 83-year-old woman who had fallen down a ravine and couldn’t get out. Piran, the woman’s cat, had stood next to the ravine and meowed continuously. Eventually, Piran led a neighbor and search crews to the woman. They are calling the cat a hero as he saved his guardian’s life.
Tamar Longmuir, the neighbor who found the woman, said, “Without the cat waiting at the gate to that field, it could have been hours later that I or anyone else would have checked there.”
Police were so impressed by Piran’s rescue of his owner that they shared a Facebook post praising him as a hero.
Because of Piran’s crying at the ravine location, the rescue team was able to find the 83-year-old woman and rush her to the hospital. Despite her 70 foot fall down a steep ravine in a nearby field, she is in stable condition and has apparently rewarded her loyal cat with many treats.
Piran is considered to be a feline hero who saved his owner and guaranteed her quick recovery. It just goes to show that black cats do not mean bad luck. In this story, Piran seems to be his owner’s good luck charm.
